Our focus is on supporting districts, campuses, and educators in work that increases student achievement. Markesha Tisby, the founder of TEC, has experience as a classroom teacher, Master Reading Teacher, and District Elementary ELAR Teaching and Learning Coach. Ms. Tisby supports educators through professional learning opportunities. Her most impactful strategies are coaching, modeling, and co-teaching lessons. With her experience with the top literacy instructional resources, best practices, and her House Bill 3 Reading Academies Cohort Leader credentials, she is an invaluable asset.

Markesha Tisby is a lover of all literacy-related things. She started her career teaching kindergarten and first grade. During that time, she received multiple awards, including Teacher of the Year. She has also served as both a Response to Intervention Specialist and Master Reading Teacher. Before going into educational consulting, Markesha was a Literacy Specialist/K-4 ELAR & Social Studies Teaching and Learning Coach. She loves training and empowering teachers to use literacy best practices to increase student achievement. Teachers respond well and appreciate Markesha's passion, commitment, and hugs.
Markesha received her Master of Education in Reading from Texas A&M Commerce.
Working with teachers by day and parents by night, she is hoping all children experience the joy of reading and discover their favorite books.
Markesha is a member of the Texas Council of Teachers of English Language Arts, serves on the board as the Vice President-Elect, and has presented multiple times at the annual, state conference. She is also a proud graduate of the Leadership ISD 2020 Cohort.
